ABOUT THE STORIES
Ever since I was in Elementary school I have loved to write. I wrote stories, poems, Journals. I wrote on paper, on books, my hand whatever was around. What I hated was being made to write. My English teacher made it an assignment to write. It sucked all the fun out of it because now it was a grade, and a subjective one at that. When I wrote I was like the Roger’s and Hammerstein Cinderella, I could be anything I wanted to be in my own little corner. And in my journal, like my own little corner, I couldn’t spell, my grammar was terrible, and I couldn’t even write that well. But I did it anyway. After I got married, I took a writing course to write stories for children, and I wrote a lot of children’s stories. Maybe you will see some of them here. I then went on to get several over degrees and finally! I have come full circle. I am writing again and incorporating what I have learned. No, my spelling still has not improved, and my grammar is probably a combination of English and some sort of Swahili but as long as you aren’t expecting to read perfect stories then you have come to the right place!
I have been fascinated with old photos and vintage things since I was born. Everything in my parents’ house was and still is, an antique. Except the couch, that will forever remain one of the very few purchases my parents will make with regard to furniture. I grew up with my dad, an amateur historian, documenting Civil War battlefields while my mother regaled me with exciting stories about a far off place my grandparents immigrated from called, England.

I love history and this website is dedicated to that in many ways. Here you will find true stories about history, some research I have done and for fun, one of the main focuses will be my stories. These aren’t just any stories, these are stories, that I completely make up from looking at old photo’s. I don’t’ know who any of the people are and I may never know but I can imagine and I can dream about what their lives might have been.

So, sit back, get your coffee or tea, pick a story and read to your hearts content. Thanks for stopping by.
